Premier League Betting Preview & Tips

barclays-premier-league returns

Introduction

Once again all 20 Premier League teams feature this week and with the transfer window drawing to a close we have a rough idea of what each sides squad will look like for the season. I’m sure each team would still like to improve their squad as transfer deadline day approaches, particularly Manchester United who I expect to be very busy in the closing days of the transfer window. The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are supposedly looking to strengthen their squads further with Falcao and Cavani’s names being mentioned on numerous occasions.

Everton v Arsenal

Arsenal travelled to Turkey during the week for their Champions League qualifier against Besiktas. The fixture finished 0-0 despite Arsene Wenger fielding a strong side and it was once again evident that they needed a world class striker, Arsenal were far from impressive. Aaron Ramsey was sent off towards the end of the match for receiving two yellow cards but it had little effect on the result of the match. On the opening day of the season Arsenal faced Crystal Palace and they were poor, it took a late Aaron Ramsey winner to undo managerless Palace at the Emirates. Everton on the other hand faced the newly promoted Leicester who look to be a very good side, the game finished 2-2 as Everton were unable to hold onto the lead. Everton thrashed Arsenal 3-0 is this fixture last season yet Arsenal are the favourites to win this match and may also have an eye on their game against Besiktas on Wednesday evening.

Sunderland v Manchester United

This week Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United travel to the Stadium of light to face Sunderland. Guy Poyet’s side amazingly survived relegation last year against the odds by winning four of their final five matches, Sunderland fans will be hoping for a much better year in the Premiership. They have made a number of good signings including Jack Rodwell which should see Sunderland safe for another season. Manchester United on the other hand are in big trouble, it would be a success if they made the top four this year in my opinion and i’m sure most would agree. They are in for a tough test against Sunderland this weekend who are by no means an easy opposition, you can back United to win this match at odds of 8/11 which doesn't tempt me due to United’s poor squad.

Manchester City v Liverpool

The game of the weak features the Premier League Champions Manchester City and Liverpool who came so close to winning the title last year. The Etihad Stadium will be full for this fixture which is no surprise as we all wait to see how Liverpool fare without their talisman Luis Suarez who went to Barcelona for £75million. Brendan Rodgers has spent the over £100million already this transfer window and is reportedly looking to buy another striker. Lazar Markovic and Emre Can are both exciting prospects and it will be interesting to see if they feature against the champions. City have made some signings of their own spending £32million on Eliaquam Mangala who Pellegrini hopes will form a strong partnership with Vincent Kompany over the course of the season, Fernando has also been brought in from Porto to sure things up defensively, it should allow Yaya Toure to play in a more attacking role. This should be a brilliant football match full of attacking football with both managers setting their teams out in an attacking style, over 2.5 goals is a great price at odds of 1.73 with Boylesports. Liverpool and Man City are full of goals especially with the likes of Aguero and Sturridge fully fit.

Recommended Bet: Over 2.5 Goals – Boylesports @ 1.73
